Makr Julieta Finalizing First Proto

I purchased a large roll of extra heavy cotton duck to use on a new really simple “Standard Canvas” bag. The roll showed up sewn up in a really interesting way. Although I purchased it from a US company it was woven in India and was packaged up using  woven plastic and sewn by hand with plastic ties (First Image). The purpose of this bag is to test a form that will show up in the Japan line and to give the first sewing contractor that I ever used some work.  Meet Julieta Galeano, she is pretty much the reason that I was able to start this company. From handsewing the wallets with a group of her friends to making the prototypes for the early set of bags, she has taught me much and helped the project progress. I now have larger technologically advanced factories but this won’t stop me from designing special projects that she can work on. Such a wonderful woman. Her 97 year old mother (who owned a seamstress school in Columbia for many years and taught her to sew) lives with her and still works on certain things.

Makr Tan Cordovan Flap Wallet

Tan Cordovan Flap Wallet, really crazy stretch marks on the leather. I will have a couple of Cordovan pieces available soon. I have recently realized that it’s quite hard to get in touch with me. This will be fixed shortly by instituting  a pop up Contact section. Until then I can be reached at info (at) makr.com.
